March Scrapbooking Competition - Day 1

It's time for a little competition here at Scrappit and in order for you to participate you will need to check this blog EVERY day for the next 5 days!

You see, every day this week we will list ONE of the 5 requirements that your single scrapbooking page MUST include in order for it to be eligible to win the $10 Shopping Voucher that is up for grabs at the end of the month!

You can either choose to gather your supplies as you go along OR wait until they are all named and then get busy gathering, designing and completing your page.

NOTE: Whilst you may use other scrapbooking products on your single scrapbooking page, ALL 5 listed requirements MUST be clearly visible in order to be eligible for judging.

Once your page is complete, either scan or digitally photograph it AND send the image through to me and I will upload your entry HERE on the SCRAPPIT BLOG for everyone to enjoy and to be eligible for judging! Entries close March 31st!

So! Here is the first requirement that MUST be somewhere on your single scrapbooking page -

February Scrappit Now Kit

Hi Everyone

Well as promised I couldn't help myself and created another two layouts from this gorgeous kit.

If you look closely at this Layout you'll notice that I have used this design before. Take a quick tour of the 'Beginners' Guide in the Learning Centre on the Scrappit Website and you'll see an article on 'How to Use a Sketch'. This sketch is just so versatile and can be used over and over again.

My DD has decided to regress to absolutely loving Pooh Bear again after all these years. The puffy Pooh Bear had been sitting in my collection of 'must haves' for quite a few years and was finally pleased to put him to good use.

This class we will be creating our own accents from the gorgeous Sassafrass Lass cardstock, inking and using templates. Class requirements - Inks, tools and Glue Dots. Bookings are a must please call 9749 1006 for a seat. Cost is $15.00

February Scrappit Now Kit

Don't you just love this Kit. Although I wasn't scheduled to create for this pack I couldn't help myself and ordered it anyway. These are just two of the layouts I have created using this gorgeous kit.

There are so many wonderful girly products in this kit it was hard to stop. I'm sure I'll be making more as soon as I can.

February Club Scrapp-it Now

The February club pack was released this week with the newsletter. I ended up making quite a lot of pages with this kit and would love to share the others not shared in the newsletter with you all -

I guess these two pages have a bit of a theme going with the strips of sewn papers but I really like the effect of the top one and wanted to do something similar with the bottom one. The great thing about both these pages is that the strips make a great use of all the scraps you have left over.

This is my favourite page out of the whole month!! I mean, I love the photo anyway but the page just came together on its own without planning and turned out really effectively.

The page probably already tells the story without the title but I couldnt resist. It took so much effort jst getting the two of my girls to sit together long enough to get this photo that it seemed just too hard to get smiles as well - at least the photo tells the story of what its like atm living with a teen and a pre-teen - no picnic as you can imagine lol!

Class Time: 7.30pm. Cost: $15.00. Bookings essential- Please call 9749 1006 to reserve a seat. This class we will be working woth Kaisercraft What A Hoot Collection Double Sided cardstock. Techniques: Inking, setting eyelets and the use of Dimensional magic to create your own accents.

How to Organisational book

I have to admit that I really do enjoy creating different things to make my life easier and I also enjoy sharing them with others. It takes me no time at all to write up a how to (so long as its not report writing time that is lol) and I like the idea of helping others to create. My newest article is another how to on making this -

You need –

• 1 A4 sheet chipboard cut in half

• Patterned paper



• Embellishments

• Printout copies of template

• Ribbon Binding rings or binding comb
  

Directions –

Print out approximately 20 copies of the template below. Cut sheet in half and trim to size. Ensure the pages fit within the your cover (an A4 sheet of chipboard cut in half). Cut your patterned paper to the same size as your covers.

Cover both sides of the front and back pieces with patterned paper. Sand the edges to smooth.

Ink the edges of the covers, both inside and outside.

Use a binder or hole punch to punch binding holes along the left side of the cover and the inner pages of your book. I actually used my bind it all to punch a set of six holes along the top and bottom of my left edge.

Insert a binding comb or if you like the effect I went for then add a 1 inch binding ring to each of the holes.

To complete my book I tied a piece of ribbon to two of the rings, binding 2 at a time together. I then decorated the cover of my book with a variety of embellishments.

'We Dare You' Challenge

As I promised in the Scrappit Newsletter earlier this week, here is my 'We Dare You' Challenge contribution which was to scrap a page about where we grew up!

I chose to include 4 photos of places around my 'old home town' that I spent quite a bit of time when I was growing up!

The colour is a little 'off' in the below scan (the close-up image is actually more 'true to life' colour) but I'm sure you get the general idea! Both the journaling and the town logo have been printed onto the Kraft coloured cardstock and the mounted to the page with foam tape for added dimension. The letters for the title are plain chipboard ones that I simply painted with brown acrylic paint!
