Digital Freebie

One of my favourite things in my digital collection is texture images. They can be used as overlays over photo's or papers to add a texture to the image, or to age the image for a vintage feel..

As a special for everyone I have created 5 texture files for you to add to your images to enhance their feel. Here's a quick look at each of the files overlaid on a photo of my daughter -

To download the file either click on the images above or follow the link here.

To use texture overlays in Photoshop elements -

1. Open your photo or image you want to texturise and the selected texture.

2. Drag the texture image over the photo. The texture file will hide the photo.

3. In your layers panel, click on the drop down effects tab (default is normal) and select overlay.

4. Play with the opacity settings to adjust the texture to your preferences. I tend to set mine at 80% but erase the face section with heavily textured images.

BTW Try choosing other effect as well as the overlay setting, each will give you a completely different feel to the texture!!
